Working late building a Ukulele.
Ukulele means : Jumping flea. These instruments are classic, they can travel anywhere, easy to learn and are a lot of fun to play, don't be fooled the competent Ukulele player is a talented musician, considering there are orchestras of Ukulele players producing some fantastic music. If you have an interest in learning to play music perhaps the Ukulele is a good start. If you are an established musician you will appreciate the magic rhythm and sound of a Ukulele. The timber I use varies from Tasmanian Blackwood to Rewarewa (Native New Zealand timber) fiddle back Totara (Native New Zealand timber) Hohere (lace bark) and Spruce.
I modeled some of my designs off old patterns and some more modern shapes, like all stringed instruments the Ukulele is made in a wide range of shapes and styles from electric solid body replicas of Fender Strat's and Gibson Les Paul's to steel string Cutaways. My Ukuleles are modeled more on the traditional end of the scale. Ukulele's I make are : Soprano, Concert, Tenor and Baritone.
