5 - 12 String Bass Guitars
When I build a six or eight string electric bass I take into consideration the finger style of the musician, do they want a fretless or fretted instrument, what kind of frets, the radius, fret scale and the appropriate timber for the body and fret board, the truss rod configuration etc. From spending time with the musician I am able to draw up plans and a list of features to incorporate into the build, this is a process of decisions, typically I have to source materials, as you can understand it all takes time.

Padauk body. While shaping the body, I use a series of holding blocks where the neck will reside, after the body is shaped the holding blocks are replaced by the neck and fretboard.
